Pilot status

A skills-first hiring initiative

Skills deserve
a clearer signal.

Good candidates have more to show. Hiring teams need more to go on.

We're shaping Kritaro with employers and campus partners: a planned approach to hiring that puts role-relevant work samples and thoughtful human review at the centre.

The opportunity

A better conversation
starts with better evidence.

A qualification or job title can be useful context. A small piece of relevant work can open a different conversation: how someone approaches a problem, explains a choice and puts a skill into practice.

That's the idea we're exploring with Kritaro. Starting with a carefully scoped pilot, we want to learn what makes that evidence genuinely useful for hiring teams and fairer to demonstrate for candidates.

Three perspectives. One shared goal.

Where do you fit in?

Choose your perspective to see what a Kritaro pilot could involve.

For employers & hiring teams

Help define the signal
your role needs.

Co-design a small pilot around a specific role, the work that matters and the evidence your team would find useful.

What we'd explore together

  • A focused role brief and a practical definition of good work
  • A proportionate work sample with clear, consistent review criteria
  • A human-led review process and feedback on what the pilot teaches us

Pilot scope, timing and any commercial terms would be agreed before participation.

For placement & career teams

Connect preparation
to real role expectations.

Help shape how adult learners and recent graduates could demonstrate relevant skills through a clear, manageable work-sample experience.

What we'd explore together

  • Role expectations that can inform candidate preparation
  • Clear instructions, realistic effort and an accessible experience
  • Feedback on the usefulness of the evidence and the participant experience

The initial concept is for adult participants aged 18 or over. Cohort and pilot details are still to be defined.

For candidates aged 18+

More room to show
how you think and work.

The planned pilot would give adult candidates a focused way to demonstrate role-relevant skills, with instructions and review criteria shared in advance.

What we're designing for

  • A relevant task with a clear purpose and expected effort
  • A chance to explain your approach and the choices you make
  • People reviewing the evidence in the context of a specific role

There are no live job openings or applications on this page. Participation would not guarantee an interview, placement or job.

Start small. Learn deliberately.

How a pilot could work

A proposed sequence to refine with each partner. The scope comes before the rollout.

  1. 01

    Frame the role

Agree the role, the essential skills and the decisions the pilot should help inform.

    A shared role brief
  2. 02

    Shape the sample

Co-design a relevant task, reasonable effort and transparent review criteria.

    A focused work sample
  3. 03

    Review the evidence

Use the agreed criteria to support human review, with room for candidate context.

    An informed conversation
  4. 04

    Learn and refine

Gather partner and participant feedback before deciding what should come next.

    A clear next-step decision

Our design starting point

Evidence informs.
People decide.

Useful hiring evidence needs context. Our planned approach keeps human judgement central, with criteria shaped around the role and the work.

Kritaro is in development. Automated verification, candidate ranking and hiring outcomes are not being offered as live capabilities.

A few useful answers

Clear expectations,
from the start.

What you can expect today, and what still needs to be worked out.

Is Kritaro live?

Kritaro is in the pre-launch, pilot-design stage. This page explains the intended approach. It is not a live hiring platform, job board or application service.

Can employers join a pilot now?

Interest registration is not open yet. Employers can email a job description to start a conversation about the role, the evidence needed and a suitable pilot scope. Dates, participation terms and any fees have not been published.

Can I apply for a job here?

No. There are no live vacancies or candidate applications on this page. The candidate concept is for adults aged 18 or over. We are not asking for CVs, identity documents or other candidate records here.

Will completing a work sample guarantee a job?

No. A work sample could help a hiring team understand relevant skills, but it would not guarantee an interview, placement or job. Employers would remain responsible for their hiring decisions.

How would work samples be reviewed?

The planned approach is to agree role-relevant criteria with an employer before a pilot and use those criteria to support human review. The detailed process, candidate instructions and feedback arrangements would be defined for that pilot.

What information does this page collect?

Registration is not open, so no details are being submitted here. The employer contact link opens your email app; an email is sent only if you choose to send it. We are not asking for CVs, identity documents or other candidate records.
